Ward Franklin Perrell, Sr., age 81, of North NC Highway 150, Lexington passed away Thursday night at Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday at Reedy Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Egbert Craven officiating. Burial will follow in Reedy Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 until 2:45 Sunday. Ward was born in Davidson County, January 19, 1931 to Paul Franklin Perrell and Anna Sink Perrell. He was a faithful member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, Chief Usher and member of the Chapel Bible Class. He was a retired employee of RJR Archer with 23 years of service and was a former Barber in Welcome. His passion was farming and he loved what the earth provided to produce food that he shared with others. He truly loved his family and especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Charlene Welch; brothers, David and Paul Perrell. Ward is survived by his wife of 53 years; Patsy Hauser Perrell of the home; daughter, Lisa Perrell Koonts husband Craig of Lexington; son, Ward F. Perrell, Jr. wife Betty of Lexington; grandchildren, Ward Perrell, III wife Jenna, Daniel Perrell, Tanner Koonts and Jaden Koonts; sisters, Annette Phillips, Iva McMahan husband Odell Lexington; brothers, Lance Perrell wife Gail, James Perrell wife Nancy, Gene Perrell wife Reba all of Lexington Elbert Perrell wife Diane of Thomasville.
