Gentry Lyons

Gentry Sylvia Pope Lyons age 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday October 26, 2021 at Trellis Supportive Care. Her body will lie in state from 3-5 pm Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel. The family will not be present. A private graveside service will be at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Pastor T.W. Bailey.

Mrs. Lyons was born June 4, 1935 in Forsyth County to George Harold Pope and Mabel Wilson Pope. She retired from American Can and was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. Her parents, husband, Dennis Lloyd Lyons a sister, Virginia Pope and brother, Vernon Pope all preceded her in death.

Surviving are her sons, Dennis Blain Lyons (Susan) of Hickory and Terry Dean Lyons (Stacy) of Lexington. Five grandchildren. Cory (Brianna), Matthew, Daniel, Sean (Michelle) and Jordan. Three great grandchildren, Elaina, Emma, Heidi and Madilynn expected in November. Her brother, Joe Pope (Rosemary) of Jamestown and sisters in law, Nancy Zimmerman, Gayle Beck (Doug) and Mary Lee Lyons. Also surviving is a very special friend, Sue Church.

Memorials may be made to Union Grove Baptist Church.
