Jack Sink

October 21, 1930 — February 6, 2007

Jack Thomas Sink, 76, of Archdale Drive, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, at Lexington Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Rev. Dr. Ray Howell III and the Rev. Tommy Wilson. Burial will be in Lexington City Cemetery. Mr. Sink was born Oct. 21, 1930, in Davidson County to Luther Gideon Sink Sr. and Sallie Cross Sink. He was a graduate of Lexington Senior High School, a veteran of the U.S. Army who served in Japan during the Korean Conflict, and retired from Burlington Industries. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lexington. On June 12, 1954, he married Betty Jean Flake. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Luther Gideon "L.G." Sink Jr., Stokes Gilmer Sink and his wife, Ruby Koontz Sink, and Clarence Hubert Sink and his wife, Loreta Shoaf Sink. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Betty Jean Flake Sink of the home; two daughters, Jackie Lynn Sink and Susan Sink Bryan and her husband, Billy, all of Lexington; twin granddaughters Brooke Bryan and Jordan Bryan, both of Lexington; one brother-in-law, Jesse Thomas Flake of Cullowhee; two sisters-in-law, Doris Swing Sink of Morganton and Dorothy Thurman Seago of Hillsborough; several nieces and nephews; and a special kitty, Roxy. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
