Ada Marie Moore Goode

Ada Marie Moore Goode 75 of Welcome passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at her home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 5, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Welcome with the Rev. Jonathan Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel. Ada was born November 25, 1938 in Axton, VA to David W. & Flora Irene Barker Moore. She was a self-employed care-giver and a member of First Baptist Church of Welcome. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norris Hunt Goode (June 12, 2004) a brother, Joseph Thomas and two sisters, Jo Nolan and Margaret Scott. Surviving are a son Moir (Benny) Martin, III (Debbie) of Arcadia; daughter, Billie Wood (Leon) of Lexington; stepson, Danny Goode of Gastonia; brother, Kenneth Moore of Martinsville, VA; sisters, Gaynell Moore of Martinsville, VA, Barbara Brim of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Lisa Cumming (Dave), Rosanna Howell (Jeff), Abbigail Link (Duran); four great-grandchildren, Meghan Cumming, Olivia Cumming, Shelby Howell and Charlie Link. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 and First Baptist Church of Welcome, Building Fund, P. O. Box 269, Welcome, NC 27374. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
