Miss Addie Sears Wallace, 97, of Spruce Street, died Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at Autumn Care, Salisbury. The funeral will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 28, 2009, at First Baptist Church Chapel in Lexington, where she was a member, with Dr. Ray Howell 3rd officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Miss Wallace was born April 16, 1912, in Wake County to John Mordecai Sears and Mamie Marcella West Sears and was later adopted by James Neal Wallace and Nettie Barton Wallace. She retired after 28 years of service with Davidson County Department of Social services. At her church she a member of Fidelis Sunday school class. Surviving are a sister, Gertrude S. Wilson of Farmville, Va.; several nieces including Ellen Harkey and husband, Luther, of Salisbury; and several nephews including Dan Sears and wife, Glenna, of Raleigh. The family will receive friends one hour from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service in the church parlor. Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
