Adelaide Davis Elkins Hamilton, 94, of Lutheran Home, Salisbury, formerly of Williams Street, Lexington, died Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, after four years of declining health.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Forest Hill Memorial Park by the Rev. Myra Ward.
Mrs. Hamilton was born Dec. 26, 1911, in Catawba County to Austin Davis and Lillian Jones Davis. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for 10 years and was a member of the Bill Greene Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Ervin Elkins Sr., and also her second husband, John Adam Hamilton; a daughter, Vivian Marie Walsh; a brother, Thad Davis; and two sisters, Catherine Davis Redwine and Josephine Davis Carlton.
Surviving are three sons, John Ervin Elkins Jr. of Richmond, Va., George Elkins of Lexington and Don Howard Elkins of Hendersonville; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
