Agnes Parks Humphrey

Agnes Parks Humphrey, 82, of Alston Brook Nursing home, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 27, 2013, surrounded by her family. A funeral service will be held at 2PM on Thursday, October 31, 2013, at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington, with Rev. Doug McGee officiating. The burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6PM to 8PM on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington and other times at the home of the son Tony Humphrey on Reynolds Road in Lexington. Mrs. Humphrey was born October 28, 1930, in Montgomery County, to Earl Thomas Parks and Beulah Freeman Parks. She was a former employee of Manhattan Shirt Company. She was also a member of Arrington Heights Freewill Baptist Church. She took much pride in sewing and cooking for her family and friends. Along with her father and mother she is also preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Humphrey Sr., 5 brothers; Dewey Parks, Fred Parks, John Lee Parks, Bill Parks, and J.T. Parks, 4 sisters; Mary Lou Parks, Jewell Sweatt, Lucy Furr, and Ina Mae Leonard. Surviving are her two sons; Eddie Humphrey and wife Mendy, and Tony Humphrey and wife Gina, as well as 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren all of Lexington. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
