Aileen Lyon

Mrs. Aileen Odom Lyon, 98, of Calvin Sowers Road, died Saturday, August 18 at Lexington Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, August 22 at Forest Hill Memorial Park, by the Rev. Scott Slaughter.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service.

Mrs. Lyon was born June 15, 1920 in Avery County, NC to Marshall Ervin Odom and Sally Walker Odom.  She retired from Manhattan Shirt Company after twenty years of service and was a charter member of Coggins Memorial Baptist Church.  Her husband, W. Conrad “Bill” Lyon, her brothers, Dennis Odom, Ronald Odom, and Robert Odom, and her sister, Beatrice Odom Wallace, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Presnell of the home, and Sandra Linville of Lexington; her brother, Thomas Odom of Florida; her grandchildren, Jacqueline Hensley, Rick Hensley and Phillip Lopp; and her great grandchildren, Austen Lopp and Caroline Lopp.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Coggins Memorial Baptist Church, Homebound Ministries, 1306 S. Main St, Lexington NC 27292.
