Alan Eugene White, 55, of Winston-Salem, devoted husband and amazing, loving father, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Oct. 27, 2006.
"This is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are quite small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us an immeasurably great glory that will last forever! So we don't look at the troubles we can see right now; rather, we look forward to what we have not yet seen. For the troubles we see will soon be over, but the joys to come will last forever." - 2 Corinthians 4:16-18.
Alan was born Aug. 29, 1951, to Fred and Imogene White. He was employed by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. for 34 years. He was preceded in death by his precious brother, Ronnie White. Surviving are his wife, the love of his life, Linda; his cherished and precious daughter, Christa; his loving parents, Fred and Imogene; three devoted brothers, Jerry, Wayne and Ted; and many wonderful nephews and nieces.
A worship and praise service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, at Kernersville Church of Christ, with Mark Essick and Larry Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at Davidson Funeral Home - Hickory Tree Chapel. The family would like to express their gratitude to all their friends and loved ones who have shown them so much love and support through this difficult time.
