Albert Melvin Austin, 88, of Lexington, passed away January 21, 2025 at Lexington Health Care.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Sammie Allison officiating, followed by burial at Forest Hill Memorial Cemetery.

Family will visit with friends Saturday, one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.

Albert was born March 20, 1936 in Bradley Tennessee to Joseph and Ozena Hatfield Austin. He served in the US National Guard and was employed at J.P Stevens where he was a supervisor. He was a member of Spruce Street Baptist Church.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories; his wife, Sarah Edwards Austin, his son, Richard Austin and his wife Tabitha, his daughter, Cindy Beam and her husband, Aaron, his step-children; Monty Riggs, Melisa Riggs and Katie Edwards, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, and his brother, Frank Austin and his wife, Myra.

Preceding him in death along with his parents are his 1st wife, Mary Magdalene King Austin, his brothers; Elbert Austin, George Austin, John Austin, Joe Austin, and Delmer Austin, and sisters; Emogene  Haskins, Thelma Couch, Mary Ruth Jones, and Pauline Reed.

Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is serving the family in their time of need.
