Albert David Fleenor, 87, of Alston Brook, formerly of Elizabethton, Tenn., died Tuesday, January 03, 2012, at Alston Brook Nursing Home.
A graveside service will be a later date at National Cemetery, Salisbury. The family will receive friends at the home of Wayne and Judy Fleenor.
Mr. Fleenor was born April 11, 1924, in Virginia, to Lonzo Fleenor and Myrtle Watts Fleenor. He was a self employed carpenter and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Blevins Fleenor, who died in 1962; son, James E. Fleenor; and daughters, Carolyn Hale and Gloria Wishon.
Surviving are sons, David Fleenor of North Ft. Myers, Fl., Bobby Fleenor and wife, Barbara, of Scottsville, Va., and Wayne Fleenor and wife, Judy, of Lexington; daughters, Patsy Franklin of Lexington and Janet Frittz and husband, Bill, of Elizabethton, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Rev. Theodore Fleenor of Johnson City, Tenn., and Hershell Fleenor and wife, Irene, of Elizabethton, Tenn.; and sister, Shirley Honeycutt of Johnson City, Tenn.
