Albert Jackson Mize Jr., 81 of Estates Dr., Lexington died Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Hinkle Hospice House.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Rev. David Purdy officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of the daughter, Carole on Serenity Lane, Lexington.
Mr. Mize was born April 14, 1930 in Davidson County to Albert Jackson Mize, Sr. and Josie Hoffman Mize. He was a retired Auto Body repairman and a member of St. Andrews United Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora Hinkle Mize, two brothers, C.J. Mize, Elwood Mize and a sister and brother-in-law, Earsley Hege and husband, Ed Hege.
Surviving are a son, Wesley Mize and wife Kim of Winston-Salem; a daughter, Carole McCrary and husband, Rick of Lexington; three grandchildren, Chris Mize of Charlotte, Kimberly Wilkerson and husband, Hugh, Kelly Crotts both of Lexington; five step grandchildren, Jill McCrary, Jessica Jones and husband, Rocky both of Palm Bay, Florida, Janet McCrary of Melbourn, Florida, James McCrary and wife, Maria, of Provo, Utah, John McCrary of California;
A great grandchild, Brooke Hayes of Lexington; five step great grandchildren; three brothers, Henry David Mize and wife, Helen, of King, Avon Mize and wife, Carol both of Lexington, Ted Mize and wife, Barbara, of N. Myrtle Beach, SC sisters-in-laws, Audrey Mize and Kitty Mize.
