Albert James Tysinger

Albert James Tysinger, 85, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Lexington, North Carolina.

Funeral services will be at Davidson Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Thomas Hepler on August 18, 2018 at 2:00 pm.  Burial will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park with military graveside services.  Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 pm prior to the service at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington with other visitation at the home.

Albert was born to Emma Bailey Tysinger in Davidson County, North Carolina.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Darrell Tysinger; brothers, Henry (who died in childhood), William (Bill), Joseph (Joe), Marvin and Edgar (Ed); and sisters, Viola Mahala and Ella Katen.

Albert was a veteran of the US Army proudly serving during the ending of the Korean War, stationed in Germany, assigned to the motor pool, reaching the rank of Corporal.  He was a charter member of Leonard Road Baptist Church.  He was owner/operator along with brother, Ed, at A & J Pure Service.  He later was owner/operator of Tysinger’s Garage and a member of the Independent Garage Owners Association of North Carolina serving several years as secretary and named Man of the Year in 1990.

Surviving are his loving wife, Martha, married 62 years; also devoted family including daughter, Jane Benson and husband, Steve; son, Ray Tysinger of the home; grandson, Brad Benson and wife, Jennifer; grandson, Jason Benson; and also very special great-grandchildren, Carter, Madison, Olivia and Jacob; sister, Louise Wilson, of Lexington; and sister-in-law, Sue Tysinger, and special nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to choice of donor.
