Albert Edward West

Albert Edward West, age 82 of East Eller Drive, Winston Salem N.C. passed away suddenly, Saturday afternoon (12-26-2009) in Forsyth Medical Center. He was born September 5, 1927 in Rockingham County to Vance and Katie Martin West; he was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service having served in the Korean and Vietnam Conflict and was a member of VFW Post 1134 and Welcome Amvet Post 760. After retirement he enjoyed fishing and working on the farm. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday (12-29-2009) at Immanuel- New Eden Moravian Church where he was a member conducted by Rev. Bob Peek and Pastor Cheryl Cottingham. Burial will follow the service in the church graveyard. Albert is survived by his wife Shirley Spry West and his son Mike Morris both of the home. One daughter, Michelle Morris of Morrisville, N.C.; brother in law Charlie Spry Jr. (Faye) and sister in law Denise Currie (Keith) both of Winston Salem. The family will receive friends 6-8 Monday (12-28-2009) at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel and other times at the residence.
