Alene Virginia McGlamery Tysinger, 84, of Alston Brook Nursing Center died Friday, May 13, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem after an extended illness.
A funeral service will be Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Grace Journey Church of God of Prophecy, where she was a member, by the Revs. Gerald Shean and Paul Titus. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 PM Tuesday at the church, and other times at the home of the son, Jim Tysinger on North County Home Road.
Mrs. Tysinger was born in Catawba County on May 22, 1931 to Joseph and Louise Kahl McGlamery. She was a retired spinner for Parkdale Mills, Inc. She loved her Lord, her family, her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed working in her flowers, and loved listening to gospel music. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Ralph, and James McGlamery, and daughter-in-law Karen Myers Tysinger.
Surviving are sons Jim Tysinger (JoLynn), Rick Tysinger, and daughter Andrea Hedrick (David) all of Lexington; grandchildren Travis Tysinger (Tanzy), James Tysinger (Courtney), Dustin Tysinger (Kristen), Amber Richardson (John), and Jordan Blake (Jack); and great-grandchildren Taylor, McKayla, Aiden, Eli, Dylan, Payton, Andrew, Spring, Zach, River, and Danna.
