Mr. Alger (Al) Preston Johnson, age 82 of Helmstetler Road, Lexington NC died Sunday, April 4 at W G (Bill) Hefner Medical Center in Salisbury.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Forest Hill Memorial Park conducted by Rev. Preacher Clyde Akers. Military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post # 3074
Mr. Johnson was born June 1, 1927 in Montgomery County to Shelton Reid Johnson and Flora Harris Johnson. He was a retired self-employed painter and was a veteran of the U
S Marine Corp. He was a member of VFW Post # 3074, American Legion Post # 8 and AMVET Post # 13. He was married to Linda Sue Alberty Johnson who died in 2004.
He is survived by daughter Terry Fields and husband Raymond of Burgaw; Step-daughter Lillie Sue Taha of Lexington; step-son Frankie Edward Osborne of Lexington; grandchildren Tommy Fields, Lisa Fields, Linda Hunt, Nora Taha, Abraham Taha William Osborne and Joey Osborne; great grandchildren, Chris Fields, Wally Fields, Gabriel Fields and Cody Fields.
The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel and other times will be at the residence of Lillie Sue Taha on Helmstetler Road.
