Alice Yarborough Brinkley

December 21, 1937 — April 16, 2025

Alice Ann Yarborough Brinkley, 87, of Davidson County, passed away Wednesday evening, April 16, 2025, at Hinkle Hospice House.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington.

A funeral will be held the next day, at 2:00 PM, April 22, 2025, at the funeral home.

Burial will follow the service at Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

Alice was born on December 21, 1937, in Davidson County, to the late Carl Yarborough and Florence Shillinglaw Yarborough.

She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and also attended Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

Alice loved the outdoors, especially when she was tending to her flower beds or working in the garden. She took great joy in selling the fresh produce her family grew, sharing the fruits of their labor with others.

A gifted seamstress, Alice spent years sewing for schoolteachers and fellow church members, her talent and dedication evident in every stitch. She had a passion for cooking and found joy in preparing meals for those she loved. Planning and directing weddings was another one of her many talents, where her eye for detail and care for others truly shone.

A natural people person, Alice had a warm and nurturing spirit that drew others to her. She loved getting to know those around her, always eager to listen, connect, and learn their stories.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel Webster “Webb” Brinkley; and her brothers, Carl Yarborough Jr, Gilbert Yarborough, and Jerry Yarborough.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Alisa Fritts, of Lexington; son Scott Daniel Brinkley (Sharon), of Reedy Creek; four grandchildren, DaLisa Ann Fritts (Nick Gitter), David Thomas Fritts V (Jessika Roberts), Daniel Lee Brinkley (Casey), and Austin Bruce Brinkley (Rachel); two much loved great grandchildren, Colt Thomas Fritts and Evie Mae Fritts; wonderful caregiver, Jan, and loving friend, Jonqul.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way Lexington, NC 27292.
