Alice Briggs Bruff

Mrs. Alice Jean Briggs Bruff, 67, of Joan Drive, died Friday, May 24, at Hinkle Hospice House. A memorial service will be held 6 pm Thursday, May 30th at Bethany United Methodist Church, by the Revs. David Talbert and Benny Clodfelter. The family will receive friends following the service. Mrs. Bruff was born October 23, 1951 in Davidson County to William Smith Briggs and Peggy Rhodes Briggs. She was educated at High Point College and Ashemore Business College. She retired from Central Davidson High School, where she was secretary and treasurer for many years. Alice also served as organist at Greer’s Chapel United Methodist Church, and later, Bethany United Methodist Church, playing at countless weddings and services for a total of more than 40 years. Her parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Wayne Bruff of the home; her sons, Bennett Bruff (Milenda) of Lexington; Nathan Bruff (Holly) of Kitty Hawk, and Alan Bruff (Jessica) of Lexington; her sisters, Barbara Everhardt (Jimmy) of Lexington and Carol Warfford (Jeff) of Simpsonville, SC; her grandchildren, Jayde Bruff, Taryn Bruff, Gabrielle Bruff, Conner Bruff, Eli Bruff, and Amelia Bruff; and her special nieces and nephews, Donna Logan, Sarah Blankenship, Noelle and Andy Warfford.
