Alice Lee Hedrick Foster, 87, of Lexington, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Thomasville Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Reeds Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Watterson officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
Alice was a beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt, and devoted member of her community, was deeply cherished by all who knew her. She was known for her kindness, faith, and unwavering love for her family, church, and friends.
She was the daughter of the late Earlie Thomas Hedrick and Leacie Victoria Louya Hedrick of Earlie Hedrick Drive. She was preceded in death by her parents and her nine siblings: Roby, Keyston, Jonny, Richard, Dennis, Nelly, Vera, Ellen, and Hazel.
A faithful believer in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, Alice lived her life rooted in faith and service. She was an active and devoted member of Reeds Baptist Church from the time of her marriage, worshipping faithfully and remaining connected to her church family even when declining health no longer allowed her to attend in person. She was also a member of the MMU missionary group through Reeds Baptist Church.
Alice was a member of Lexington Chapter #98 Order of the Eastern Star of NC for 58 years, joining in March of 1968. She remained a loyal and faithful member until health issues limited her active participation, serving as a Past Worthy Matron and holding several other leadership positions during her active years.
She proudly served as Mother Advisor with the Rainbow Girls, guiding and mentoring young women with care and encouragement. Her daughter, Jan Foster Mack, along with friends and cousins, were part of her chapter, sharing many fabulous times and lifelong memories within the Rainbow community.
Alice graduated from Davis Townsend High School and married her high school sweetheart, Charles Franklin Foster, with whom she shared 48 wonderful years of marriage. After high school, she attended beauty school and became a beautician, running her own shop from home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Franklin Foster; her son, Rex Franklin Foster; and her daughter, Jan Foster Mack.
Alice is survived by her son-in-law, Michael Lawrence Mack (Carrin), and her grandson, Joseph Andrew Mack. She was also an adopted mother figure and best friend to Robbie Mallard, and a loving grandmother to his sons, Eli Mallard and Luke Mallard. She was honorary mother-in-law to Carrin Mack, Cindi Mack George, Jill Mack Olson, and Brad Mack.
Her granddaughter, Suzanne Mack Assigbe, and her husband, Kokou Juste Assigbe, along with their children Dinas, Mikel, and Enzo Assigbe, shared a special and deep bond with Alice.
Alice resided at Piedmont Crossing, where she cherished the friendships she made. She shared many laughs and precious moments with her closest friends throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She leaves a lasting legacy, and her life brought joy and love to everyone around her.
