Alice Jane Snider

Alice Jane Harvey Snider passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by the love of her family on Friday, June 19, 2026. She had been in declining health for six years.

Alice was born to Hayes and Effie Poston Harvey on December 27, 1937 in Lexington, NC. She had two brothers and seven sisters. Alice was a member of Tyro Methodist Church where she helped her husband with organizing the Anna Lewis Dorsett Memorial Golf Tournament. She worked at Lexington Drug Company and then at Churchland Elementary School as a teacher assistant until her retirement in 2000. Her greatest joy was her granddaughters.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday June 26, 2026 at Tyro Methodist Church at 3:00 pm with visitation at 2:00 pm.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter, Little Anna Lewis Dorsett; brothers, Jimmy and Tommy Harvey; sisters, Betty Rose Griffin, Hazel Davis, Elizabeth Phillips, Carol MacDonald, and Linda Leonard.

Alice is survived by her loving husband and main caregiver, Robert Lewis Snider; her son , Knute Snider; daughter, Ronda (Ken) Dorsett; granddaughters, Allison (Matt) Smith, Myah (Jarred) Snider, Shae (Asa) Dorsett, McKenna (Gage) Snider, Karis (Jacob) Greene; great granddaughter, Aspen Smith; great grandson Bodhi Jenkins; daughter-in-law Kim Snider; her sisters Vicki (Bill) Bemisderfer and Mary Sue Forrest; numerous nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to caregivers, Tammy, Kristen, Crystal, Kathy, Peyton, Katelyn, plus many others who helped look after our Mom so well during her illness.
