Alicia Lundy Greer

June 25, 2001 — February 14, 2019

Miss Alicia Lundy Greer, 17, of Cherokee Drive, passed away unexpectantly of natural causes on Thursday, February 14 at her home.    A memorial service will be held at 1pm Wednesday, February 20 at First United Methodist Church, by the Revs. Dr. Lee Zehmer and Roger Weisner.    The family will receive friends following the service at First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.    Alicia was born June 25, 2001 to Dr. Robert W. Greer, IV and Janice Gunn Greer.  She was loved by many church congregations including Meadowview and First Presbyterian.  She was an active member at Mt. Zion Wesleyan youth group.  She served the Open Hands Ministry on Monday nights, adopting their motto “More Grace Less Judgement” in her life.  Alicia loved God’s creation and planned to pursue a career in natural resources and entomology as His steward.  She was a student at Davidson County Community College as a high school senior.   Alicia held leadership positions in 4-H and FFA and hoped to be a state FFA officer.  She loved and encouraged many members in these organizations.  She played volleyball for the Guardians and competed in Envirothon and forestry competitions.  Her favorite activities were farm sitting, caring for livestock while their owners vacationed, gardening and bee keeping.   She is survived by her parents of the home; her brothers, Zachary Greer, Jackson Greer, and Ethan Greer, and her sisters, Hattie Greer and Olivia Greer; and grandparents Stephen and Gay Smith of Lexington.   Memorials may be made to Open Hands Ministry, PO Box 409, Lexington NC 27293 or to the Alicia Greer Community Garden project at Wells Fargo bank.
