Allan George Denny 60 of Lexington passed away early Wednesday morning, January 2, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 4, 2013 at Friedberg Moravian Church with Rev. G. Thomas Shelton officiating and Rev. James C. Newsome Jr. A gathering of family and friends will follow after the service.
Allan was born in Forsyth County on June 20, 1952 to Fred C. and Frances Sink Denny. He worked in administration at Mid-State Petroleum and at Taylor Oil Co.
He had a love for music and piano and was a member of the Nashville Songwriters Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Joby Denny and a sister, Anna Denny Atkins.
Surviving are his wife Robin Smith Denny of the home; two daughters, Amanda McGuire Dellinger and husband Mitch of Lexington, Kate Longworth Denny of Raleigh; two grandchildren, Brooks Allan Dellinger and Beau Branon Dellinger; his father-in-law, Sherrill V. Smith.
