Pastor Allen Dermont Smith, 71, of Ridge Road, died Sunday, June 23, 2019 at his home.A funeral service will be held at 11am Thursday, June 27th at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial will follow. Visitation will be held 6-8pm Wednesday, June 26th at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.Pastor Smith was born in Davidson County on January 5, 1948 to Luther Everett Smith and Rose Ida Snider Smith. He was Pastor of Heavenly Sunlight Baptist Church for 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Luke Dermont Smith; brother, Wade Smith; and sisters, Teannie Bice and Deannie Hicks.Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Barbara Sue Everhart Smith, of the home; son, Tim Smith (wife, Kim); brother, Floyd Smith; and two grandchildren, Matthew Smith (fiancée, Victoria Noah) and Megan Smith Griffin (husband, Tyler Griffin).
