March 20, 1933 — July 4, 2009

Mrs. Allie Bell Ensley Queen, 76, of Granite Trail, Lexington and formerly of Bryson City, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 4 at Forsyth Medical Center after declining health of several years. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 7 from the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Clyde Akers and Doug McGee officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Queen was born March 20, 1933 in Swain County to Norman Ensley and Eva Barker Ensley. She retired from Klopman Mills. Her husband, Homer Cecil Queen, who died on August 7, 1999, preceded her in death, as well as her infant son, and two brothers, Dewey Ensley and Dent Ensley. She is survived by her son, Eddie Queen and wife, Rana, of Lexington; her daughters, Shirley Grant, and husband, Lance of Bryson City; Shelby Miller and husband, Danny, and Joan Blevins, and husband, Steve, both of Lexington; her sisters, Faye Temple, and husband, Allen, June Rhodes and husband, Luke, Brenda Brown and husband, Larry, Linda Maness and husband, Steve, all of Lexington; 13 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington NC 27292
