Alma Thomason Baker, 57, of Phillips Road, died today, Aug. 24, 2006, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem after six months of declining health.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Freedom Baptist Church by Preacher Clyde Akers. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Garden in Winston-Salem.
Mrs. Baker was born Dec. 16, 1948, in Davidson County to Hollis Thurman Thomason and Ethel Younts Thomason. She was a homemaker and a member of Spruce Street Baptist Church. Her husband, Marvin Eugene Baker, preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 2002.
Surviving are two sons, Frankie Eugene Baker of Kure Beach and Tony Edward Baker of High Point; four grandchildren, Tyler and Cameron Baker and Sydney and Kristen Baker; and three sisters, Reba Gobble, Mary Wood and Lois George, all of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington and other times at 208 E. Ninth St.
