Alta Jeanette Everhart

Alta Everhart, age 90 of Midway, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Hinkle Hospice House with her family by her side.

Mrs. Everhart was born June 10, 1933, in Forsyth County to Charles Richard Hine and Hattie Estelle Crater Hine.  She graduated from Midway High School in 1952 and then attended Ashworth Business School.  In 1956, she married the love of her life, Norman.  Alta was employed with Integon until the arrival of her only child, Natalie.  In 1976, she began working at Midway Elementary School as a teacher’s assistant.  She loved all her students and especially loved to read to them.  Alta retired at the age of 73 and enjoyed the remainder of her years at home with her family.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved them more than anything.

Alta is preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Roy Hine, Dallas Hine, and sisters; Mary Lash, Kathleen Everhart, Faith Hill, and Dorothy Hill.

Surviving is her husband of 67 years, Norman W. Everhart, daughter; Natalie Snincsak and husband Mike, 4 grandchildren; Ashtyn Tran (Phu), Alayna Ricafrente (Josh), Addisyn Ricafrente, and Ayden Ricafrente, 2 great-grandchildren; Elijah Tran and Ariel Tran and many special nieces and nephews.

Alta was a kind and loving mother and mawmaw and she will be deeply missed by her family.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Midway United Methodist Church with Pastors Ron Gardner and Jeff Vogler officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
