Alvah Harlan (June) Burkhart, Jr., 81, of Sunbridge Nursing Home died Thursday in Sunbridge after several years of declining health. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, 8-11-07 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Burkhart was born August 23, 1925 in Davidson County to Alvah Harlan Burkhart, Sr. and Lillie Mae Duffey Burkhart. He was a retired employee of Lexington Chair Co. and was a member of Second United Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Vernon Burkhart and Harold Burkhart. Surviving is a daughter, Betty Moore and husband James of Lexington; grandchildren, Heather Galloway and Steven Moore; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Carlton R. (Nit) Burkhart of Lexington. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the Donor’s choice.
