Alvin Dale Wilson, 56, of Hopedale Street, died Sunday, January 9, 2011, at Lexington Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at National Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Hepler officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 17, 2011, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Mr. Wilson was born July 13, 1954, in Davidson County, to Oldon Taft Wilson Sr. and Louise Tysinger Wilson. He was of the Baptist faith and formerly worked in construction. He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Buddy Wilson.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda Owensby Wilson of the home; son, Joseph Dale Wilson of Lexington; daughter, Rebecca Starr Wilson of the home and Deanna Wilson of Lexington; grandchildren, Hailey Alexia Watts, Jaylin Dale Watts, Anderson Wilson, Anna Wilson, and Lora Wilson; brothers, Sherman Wilson of Sumter, S.C. and Oldon T. “O.T.” Wilson Jr. of Winston-Salem; and sisters, Alline Kirkus and Lucy Shaw, both of Lexington.
