Amos Fritts

Amos Augustus Fritts, 92, a resident of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at his home. Amos was born in Davidson County on June 23, 1930 to the late Amos Josiah and Ida Bowers Fritts. Amos retired from Stanly Furniture in Lexington after many years of service. Amos loved his roses and was a member of the American Rose Society and the Winston-Salem Rose Society. He was a member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Marie Hays Fritts; his son, Benny Ray Coleman; and son-in-law, Jerry Walters.

A funeral service will be conducted Friday, July 15 at 2:00 PM in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington, with Rev. Frankie Matthews and Rev. Jeremy Benbrooks officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM and other times at the home of his daughter, Kathy, 2283 Conrad Hill Mine Road, Lexington, NC 27292. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Sheets Memorial Baptist Church, 210 Cotton Grove Road, Lexington, NC 27292.

Amos is survived by his daughters, Kathy Marie Walters, Sharon Ann Mixon (Wesley), and Donna Kay Grubb (Michael), four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
