Amy Hedrick Tysinger, 66 of Lexington, passed away August 23, 2024 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem.
A celebration of her life will be held at 4:00 pm Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Bethany Church of Lexington with Dr. Chuck Hutchens and Dr. Michael Martin officiating. The family will receive friends at the church before the service from 2:00-4:00 and other times at the home.
Amy was born February 4, 1958, in Davidson County, to Odell Andrew Hedrick and Josephine Morgan Hedrick. She graduated from Central Davidson High School in 1976 and continued her education at Appalachian State University where she majored in elementary education. She moved back home after college and began her teaching career while working to complete her master’s degree. Amy devoted her entire career to teaching children in Davidson County Schools where she retired after 33 years of service.
Her passions were her faith, family, and especially her grandchildren who fondly called her “Mimi”. She enjoyed times spent with friends and her annual family vacations to Hatteras, NC. Amy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all.
Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband, Blaine Tysinger, of the home; son, Matthew Tysinger (Sarah) and daughter, Morgan Cecil (Sidney), both of Lexington; grandchildren, Raelyn, Chaz, and Josie; mother, Josephine Morgan Hedrick of Lexington; brother, Andy Hedrick (Cathy) of Lexington; sisters, Sandra Hedrick of Raleigh, and Letha Cucci (Pat) of Lexington and many other nieces and nephews.
