Andrew "Andy" Newton Fitzgerald

Andrew “Andy” Newton Fitzgerald, 36 of Midway passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2015. Andy was born in Swain County, North Carolina on December 24, 1978, to the late Reverend James Alton Fitzgerald and Laurie Davidson Fitzgerald. He is survived by his wife, Milissa "Missy"Johnson Fitzgerald; his sons, Jordan and Brandon; his mother, Laurie Davidson Fitzgerald; three brothers, Reuben Boyd “Bo” Fitzgerald and wife Adah, Joseph (Joe) Barclay Fitzgerald and wife Lisa; and Reverend Christopher “Chris” Alton Fitzgerald; a sister, Jane Fitzgerald Suther, and husband Edward; a brother- in- law Jay Johnson and wife Janice; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Johnny and Alice Johnson; his nephews Eric, Drew, Jack, and Hank; nieces Alison and Eliza; and countless other friends and family. Andy was a tall man with a gentle soul, full of humility, humor, and love for his family, his farm and animals. He was a wonderful Dad and a gift to all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to Jordan & Brandon’s College Fund www.gofundme.com/Jordan-Brandon.
