Angela Swicegood Hammonds

Angela Swicegood Hammonds, 49, of Welcome, peacefully passed away into her Lord and Savior's arms on Monday, June 25, at Forsyth Medical Center.

She holds a special place in the hearts of many as a beloved granddaughter, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her grandfather, I.V. Swicegood; parents, Ronald Swicegood (Linda) and Ann Thomas; sister, Minnee` Byrd (Mark); her husband, Jeff Hammonds; two daughters, Karen Coney (Danny) and Kelli (Joseph Gebhardt); two granddaughters, Lorelei and Rosalie Coney.

Angela had a special way of touching all of those she came in contact with and her life was defined by her selflessness and love for others. True to fashion, she was able to help others even in her death through the donation of her organs so that others would be able to live. She will be missed by many but we celebrate her joyous reunion in Heaven!

A service will be held in her honor, Saturday, June 30, at First Baptist Church of Welcome. The family will receive visitors at the church beginning at 9:30 am, prior to the beginning of the service at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
