Mrs. Angie Hill Thomas, 74, of Country Club Drive, died Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Friday, March 28 at First United Methodist Church, by the Revs. Kelley Groce and Dr. Lee Zehmer. A private burial will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends following the funeral service.
Mrs. Thomas was born July 9, 1939 in Davidson County to David Odell Hill and Beulah “Boots” Hilliard Hill. She was the former owner and operator of the Boots Shoppe, Inc. in Uptown Lexington. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Prayer Shawl ministry, a member of the Charity League of Lexington and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. She is preceded in death by her brother, Charles William Hill.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Philip Thomas of the home; her daughters, Amy Thomas and companion, Mark Owens, and Judy Adams and husband, Jeff, both of Lexington, and Jill Mitchell and husband, Troy, of Waxhaw; her grandchildren, Courtney Hill Waterman and husband, Tom, Mattie Sue Strickland, Thomas Lane Gilliam, Daniel Philip Gilliam, Angie Kathleen Gilliam, Landon Wry Mitchell, Davis Carson Mitchell, David Robert Adams, and Kelly Claire Adams.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 310 S. Main Street, Lexington NC 27292.
