Anita Inman Briggs Hopkins, 93, of Brookdale of Lexington, formerly of East Old Highway 64, died Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at the assisted living center.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Richard and Shelia Gould officiating. Burial will follow at Becks Reformed Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:30 to 3:30 Thursday.
Mrs. Hopkins was born March 19, 1922, in Henry County, Va., to Fletcher Inman and Mattie Love Inman. She was a member of Becks Reformed Church and a graduate of Brosville High School in Virginia. She was first married to Miller Hoyle Briggs who preceded her in death and later married S.G. Hopkins “Hoppy” who also preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Nell Terry, Christine Wood, Lois Gregory and Jessie Minter; and brothers, Harry Inman and Guy Inman.
Surviving are son, Larry Briggs and wife Nanci of Thomasville; daughters, Debrah Briggs Newell and husband Bill of Kernersville, and Sylvia Briggs Gallimore and husband Gary of Silver Valley Community; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren
