Mrs. Ann Matlock Bowyer, 67, of Lexington, passed away Saturday, September 10 at her home after an extended illness.
A memorial service will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, September 14 at First Presbyterian Church, by the Rev. Dr. Lee Zehmer.
The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
Mrs. Bowyer was born November 30, 1948 in Guilford County to John William Matlock, Jr. and Virginia Myrtle Ledbetter Matlock. She was a graduate of Western Alamance High School and East Carolina University. She was a retired school teacher with the Davidson County School System. She taught for thirty years at Pilot, Linwood, and Southwood Schools. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was a former deacon. Her parents and her step-son, Charles B. Bowyer, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Charles C. Bowyer of the home; her son, John David Huneycutt and wife, Julie, of Lexington; her daughter, Leigh Ann Zupan and husband, Jeff, of Huntersville; three grandchildren, Rachel and Lauren Huneycutt and Hollis Zupan; her sister, Nina Matlock of Burlington; her stepchildren, Beverly Coppley and husband, Jeff of Pfafftown, Christy Grooms and husband, Paul, of Rockwell, and Beth Wei and husband, Leo, of Raleigh; step grandchildren, Ellen Coppley, Thomas Coppley, Melanie Grooms, Noah Grooms, Scarlett Wei and Pippa Wei.
