Ann Lanier Kimrey

Mrs. Ann Lanier Kimrey, 95 of Fairview Drive, Lexington died Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at The Brian Center of Lexington. A service to celebrate the life of a mother, grandmother and great grandmother will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 9th, at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel. The service will be conducted by Dr. Robert Floyd. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Kimrey was born August 3, 1911 in Randolph County to Robert Lanier and Essie Lyndon Lanier. She was a graduate of Bombay Academy, and Farmer High School. Along with her husband she founded Fairview Cloth Shop, a business she operated for 32 years and that was well known in North Carolina and other parts of the country. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Wade Kimrey, Her parents, and a sister Genevieve Cranford, and brothers, Buren Lanier, Hubert Lanier, Bernard Lanier and Van Lanier. She attended North Lexington Baptist Church, and had been an active member of the Lexington Women’s Club. She is survived by a son Don Kimrey, and wife, Winona of Lexington a daughter Lynn Kimrey Leonard of Lexington, grandchildren Robert Kimrey, Cecilia Leonard, and Genevieve Ireland, and husband, Chad. Great-Grandchildren Zachary Ray Perdue, Carissa Ireland and Brooke Ireland. Sharon Hughes The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Friday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.
