Anna Pope Warner Portis, 46, of Midway died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at Forsyth Medical Center.
A Service of Celebration of her life will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at Clemmons United Methodist Church, 3700 Clemmons Road, Clemmons, with the Rev. Phillip Cole officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall after the service. Burial will be in Midway United Methodist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Portis was born June 3, 1960, in Charlotte to the Rev. Joseph Meek Goode and Carolyn Pope Warner of Irmo, S.C. She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Marcus Steven Portis of Midway; two daughters, Joanna Marie Portis and Sarah Lois Portis of the home; a brother, Joseph Mark Warner and his wife, Kazia, of Hickory; a sister, Sarah Lee Brasche and her husband, Kevin, of Irmo, S.C., and various nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Daniel Warner. Mrs. Portis was a member of Clemmons United Methodist Church. She was Director of Music at Konnoak Hills United Methodist Church and a full-time student at High Point University. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the choir funds of either Konnoak Hills or Clemmons United Methodist churches.
