Anne Sink Cashwell, 85, passed away on Sunday October 9, 2016 at the Palace Gardens in Miami, Florida. A funeral service will be held at Pilgrim Lutheran Church on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 3:00 pm with Pastor Craig Saltzer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 2 to 3 pm on Saturday, October 15, 2016. Mrs. Cashwell was born on January 14, 1931, in Davidson County, to Dermont Sink and Mary Brinkley Sink (Zimmerman). She was an Elementary School Teacher at the Old Town School in Winston-Salem and a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, International Organization for Women Educators She was also a member of Augsburg Lutheran Church in Winston-Salem, NC. In addition to her parents Mrs. Cashwell was preceded in death by her brother Charles Sink, of Sanford, NC. Surviving are her son, Charles Cashwell and wife Cynthia of Key Largo, FL; her daughter Kim Cashwell-Murray and husband Bill of Kernersville, NC; two grandchildren Erik Murray of Kernersville and Erynn Murray of Nashville, TN; her sister-in-law Kathryn Sink of Sanford, NC; nephews, Robert Sink and wife Robin of Clinton, NC and Michael Sink of Durham, NC; nieces, Kathy Sink of Sanford, Dr. Mary Anne Mayo and husband Dr. Marty Mayo of Charlottesville, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, American Cancer Society, The National Alzheimer’s Association, or your local Hospice organization.
