Anne Lefler Dennis, age 90 of Lexington Health Care, formerly of NC Highway 8, passed away Thursday at Lexington Health Care. A service celebrating Anne’s life will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday (4-19-2009) at Linwood United Methodist Church with Rev. Cynthia Arnold and Rev. Sandy Young officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Anne was born in Anson County, NC to John Frank Lefler and Electa Caroline Hill Lefler. She was a retired employee of Link Taylor Furniture and a member of Linwood United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by her parents, husband William Carmie Dennis, Sr. in 1971, four brothers, Jack, Rufus, Haywood and Billy Lefler and three sisters, Ethel Pope, Alice Sikes and Dorothy Mills.
Surviving are: one daughter, Julia Leonard and husband Jim of Lexington; three sons, Glenn Dennis, William Carmie Dennis, Jr., and Steve Dennis and wife Alice all of Lexington, six grandchildren, Cam Perry, Bill Dennis, Tracey Dennis, Melissa Trogdon, Angie Surratt and Teresa Everhart, and 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lucy Saunders and husband Clamon of Peachland, NC, Mildred Lowder and husband Carley of Norwood, NC and Mary Mills of Monroe, NC.
The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 until 3:00 pm Sunday and at other times at their respective homes.
The family would like to thank Lexington Health Care for the care and compassion shown to mother during her illness. Also a special thanks to mothers care-givers, Judy, Julie, Samantha, Misty and Jane.
