Annie Burr

Annie Ruth Gathings Burr, 75 of Feezor Road, Lexington died Saturday July 11, 2009 at High Point Regional Cancer Center. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday July 14, 2009 in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. David Davis. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Burr was born in Anson County, NC on May 14, 1934 to James Clinton Gathings and Emma Bryant Gathings. She retired from PPG Industries after 26 years of service and was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Bob Bryant. Surviving are sons, James Burr, Jr. of SC and David Burr and wife Jeannie of Lexington; daughters, Debra Lampley and husband Donald, Sandi McGhee all of Lexington and Teresa Burr of FL; 8 grandchildren, 2 Step grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, brothers, James Gathings and wife Mary and Ralph Gathings all of Wadesboro; sisters, Vera Gathings of Charlotte, Mary Ledford of TN, Peggy Butts and husband Tom of Charlotte, Francis Tyler and husband David of Marshville, NC and Louise Hinson and husband Jim of Rockingham. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
