Annie “Peggy” Lapish Hayes, 82, of 222 Troy Mill Road, Statesville North Carolina, died Tuesday April 19, 2016 at Davis Regional Medical Center in Hamptonville. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday April 23, 2016, at Davidson Funeral Service with Rev. Doug McGee and Dr. Cliff Gwatney officiating services. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, April 22, 2016 at the funeral home. Mrs. Hayes was born December 7, 1933 in Davie County to William Hendrix Lapish and Mary Emma Tutterow Lapish. She was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church and retired from Lexington Furniture. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Junior Hayes, a son Max Strickland; two brothers, Major Lapish and John Lee Lapish; four sisters, Patricia Spivey Ida Mae Edward, Stella Lapish and Ruby Sphneider and her parents. Surviving are; two sons, Billy Lapish and wife Barbara, Jimmy Hayes both of Lexington; four daughters, Patsy Fuller and husband Joe of Alabama, Gloria Troutman and husband Dwayne of Hamptonville North Carolina, Linda Shilling of Lexington and Jo Anna Hayes also of Lexington; one brother, Sam Lapish and wife JoAnna of Winston Salem; one sister, Edna Laird, of Winston Salem; ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and two grand dogs. Memorials made be made to Arrington Heights Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund 455 Arrington Heights Circle, Lexington NC 27295.
