Annie Brogdon Sechrest ,age 82 of Brookdale Assisted Living formerly of Copley Street passed away Sunday morning February 10, 2019 after 10 years of declining health due to Alzheimers Disease.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at New Hope Presbyterian Church with Rev. Brian Rummage officiating and Inurnment will follow at Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary from 1:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the service.
Annie was born in Davidson County March 2, 1936 to Bradley Buckhart Brogdon and Gertrude Muriel Childress Brogdon. She was a retired employee of Lexington City Schools; former secretary-treasurer and Elder of Second Presbyterian Church where she was a member for 40 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Lee Sechrest who she married May 24, 1952; son, James Randall Sechrest; sister, Betsy Muriel Brogdon Higgins and a brother, David Brogdon.
Surviving are her daughters, Jamie Sechrest Rains of Thomasville and Michelle Sechrest Henderson (Eric) of Lexington; son, Timothy Lee Sechrest of Lexington; grandchildren, Cole, Nathan, Christian, Ian, Colin and Jeanna; great-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Conner, Wesley, Chloe, Hunter, twins Cooper and Cora; sister, Judy Brogdon McDowell of Farmer.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alzheimers Disease and Related Disorders Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
