Archie Lake Brown

Archie Lake Brown, 75, of Bethany Church Road, died Monday, June 26, 2006, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bethany United Church of Christ, where he was a member, by the Rev. Jay Whitley. Mr. Brown was born Feb. 12, 1931, to Benjamin Brown and Grace Morgan Brown. He retired from North State Telephone and served his country in the U.S. Air Force in Korea. Surviving are his wife, Alice Joyce Brown of the home; one son, Michael L. Brown of Clemmons; three daughters, Debra Brown Chilton of Clayton, Sharon Brown Tomlin of Lynchburg, Va., and Kimberly Brown Ward of Kissimmee, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Lydia Brown of Covington, Va. Mr. and Mrs. Brown were blessed with seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family will receive friends at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Bethany UCC, 1066 Bethany Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27107. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel, is serving the family.
