Archie Fritts Ward, age 74, of City Lake Road, Lexington passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Hinkle Hospice House. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Pilgrim Reformed Church, where he was a member with Rev. Steve Disher officiating. Burial will follow at Pilgrim Reformed Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday.
Archie was born in Davidson County, September 25, 1937 to John Daniel Ward and Lottie Fritts Ward. He was a retired employee of Frank IX and Sons. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jackie Farabee; brothers, Dan, Buford and Ed Ward; granddaughter, Brittany Irene Younts.
Surviving are; wife Ruth Ward of the home; daughters, Kim Rafield, Shelly Brogdon and Ann Speas and husband Henry all of Lexington; sons, Timothy John Ward and wife Amy, David Peacock and wife Christy all of Lexington and Larry Peacock and wife Angie of Mocksville;
10 grandchildren; Adam and Hannah Plyler, Luke Brogdon, Dalton Speas, Drew Barnhill, Zach Zaborowski, Jacob and Daniel Ward, Travis and Ashley Peacock; 5 great-grandchildren; Wynter and Braxton Plyler, Makala Waters, Jayden and Madison Peacock; sisters, Edith Truitt, Ruth Jolly, Doris Hedrick and husband Willis and Kaye Everhart all of Lexington; Mary Workman and husband David of Thomasville; brother, John Ward and wife Dorcas of Lexington; sister-in-law’s; Margaret Q. Ward, Margaret (Vononia) Ward and Sarah Ward; brother-in-law; Robert Farabee.
