Arnold Odell Mathis, Jr.

Arnold Odell Mathis Jr., 30, of Hope Dale Street, died suddenly Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Wake Forest Baptist Health – Lexington Medical Center. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2012, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012, at the funeral home. Mr. Mathis was born December 9, 1981, in Davidson County, to Arnold “Arnell” Odell Mathis and Wonda Wampler Mathis. He was of the Baptist faith and employed at Xceldyne. Surviving are his father and stepmother, Darlene, of Lexington; his mother of Rockwell; daughter, Haiden Mathis of Salisbury; brothers, Greg Mathis of Thomasville and Brian Long of Lexington; sister, Carrie Long of Lexington; grandmother, Gladie Wampler of Greensboro; and several aunts, uncles, nieces nephews and cousins.
