David Arnold Owens, 91, of Tyler Lane, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Lexington Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at Stoners Grove Baptist church, where he was a member, with Rev. Billy Pearson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davidson funeral Home from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, September 30, 2014, and other times at the home on Tyler Lane, in Southmont, off of Gray Road.
David was born in Davidson County, September 11, 1923, to Howard Cleveland and Vallie Myers Owens. He was a retired employee of Gordon Veneer and a veteran of the US Army serving his country during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Grace Edith Owens in 2012; granddaughter, Linda Owens; great-grandson, Jacob Owle; and a brother Hammett Owens.
Surviving are his daughter, Norma Jean Kennedy of Southmont; son, David C. Owens of the home; three grandchildren, John Owens, Shannon Owens, and Tammy Kennedy; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Owens, and Alec Seagle; and great-great-grandson, Braedon Owens; Lynn Fletcher; and nephew, Benny Owens.
