Arnold Ray

Arnold Ray, 93, of Fairview Drive, Lexington, died Saturday at his home after declining health. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum by Dr. Lee Zehmer. Mr. Ray was born November 8, 1913 in Kyser, WV to Martin Alexander Ray and Sadie Florence Arnold Ray. He was a graduate of Davidson College and retired from the US Postal Service. He served in the US Navy during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 8 and VFW Post 3074. He was also a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Blue Ray, who died March 1, 2007 and a sister, Charlotte Ray. Surviving are his daughters: Ann Ray Parks and husband, Charles Parks Jr. of Lexington and Mary Blue Ray of Charlotte; his grandson, Charles C. Parks III and wife, Melissa of Lexington; and his great grandson, Charles Parks IV. There will be no public visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, PO Box 1941, Lexington NC 27292.
