Arwilda Lily Essick Everhart, 92, a resident of Alston Brook and long-time resident of Leonard Rd, Welcome, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May, 28, 2009.
The funeral will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2009, at Bethesda United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Hochmuth, Rev. Ned Owens and Rev. Clyde Darrin Everhart, burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Everhart was born January 11, 1917 to Arlie Luther Essick and Girla Kinney Essick. She attended Welcome School and retired from Binning’s Building Products. She was a faithful member of Bethesda United Methodist Church and the Suzanna Wesley Sunday School Class. She was also member of the Circle of Joy United Methodist Women at Bethesda. Prior to her illness she attended the Welcome Nutrition Site with many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde William Everhart, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Arlie Luther (A.L.) Essick, Jr., Ralph Essick, Rueben Essick and Winfred Essick; and her sisters, Agnes Adkins and Mintie Everhart.
Mrs. Everhart is survived by two sons, Clyde William (Sonny) Everhart, Jr. and wife, Evelyn, of Lexington, Jerry Wayne Everhart and wife, Marcia, of Concord, a daughter, Judy Ann Everhart Martin and husband, Bobby, of Welcome; three grandchildren, Douglas Wayne Everhart of Welcome and fiancé, Sherrie McDonald, of Concord, Rev. Clyde Darrin Everhart and wife, Lisa, of Harmony, and Cynthia Marie Everhart Conner and husband, Michael, of Midland. She has two great-grandsons, Andrew Everhart of Greenville, and Micah Everhart of Harmony, four great-granddaughters, Carmen Everhart of Welcome, Amber Conner and Amy Conner of Midland, and Lillie Everhart of Harmony. Mrs. Everhart is also survived by one brother, William (Bill) Frank Essick and wife, Frances, of Welcome and one sister, Freda Mae Shoaf and husband, Glenn, of Welcome.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel and at other times at the home of her daughter, 1225 Conard Sowers Rd., Lexington, NC
The family would like to give special thanks to care-giver Ada Goode and the staff of Alston Brook.
