Ashley Thomason, age 39, of Woodlawn Dr., died Wednesday, February 9, 2022, with family by her side.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday at 2 nd Reformed United Church of Christ, Lexington conducted by Rev. Jim Luck. Family will receive friends after the service. Ashley will lie-in-state Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington, NC.
Ashely was born May 4, 1982 in Forsyth County to Randy Thomason and Susan Brown Thomason.
Ashley was a Real Estate Broker and President of Thomason Realty Group. She was truly beautiful inside and out. She had an infectious smile that filled her face and earned her the nickname “Cheeky”. Ashley loved to laugh and saw pleasure in everything she did. Blessed with the warm heart and beauty of her mother and despite being cursed with a twisted sense of humor by her father, she was a joy to be with. She was always looking for the next adventure.
Family and friends were everything to her and she was always eager to share time with them and looked forward to every event. Even as her body failed her time and time again she continued to plan for the future. Whether it was a birthday, holiday or dinner, she never missed an opportunity to be with the people she loved the most and who loved her. She possessed an inner strength and a will to live that was simply amazing. Though her physical afflictions would have been too much for most people to maintain a positive outlook, she took nothing for granted. She knew time was precious to merely give up and withdraw from life. Ashley never blamed anyone or anything for her illnesses. She met every challenge head on and was undeterred in her fight to live her life until she took her final breath, surrounded by the people who loved her the most.
Ashley passed away 9 years to the day that her “nanny” died. Her grandmother worshipped the ground she walked on. There is no doubt that she will have the best guide in heaven to what will be the ultimate adventure.
Surviving are her husband, Shane Hutcheson; parents, father and mother in-law, Ron and Heidi Hutcheson; brothers, Johnathan Thomason (Cameron), and Robert Thomason (Shannon); brother-in-law, Jess Hutcheson (Anne); niece, Haylee; nephews, Blake, Eli, Cooper, and Palmer; great-aunts, Judy Rogers (Rudy) and Nancy Needham, and special cousin Tabitha Lambe. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jim and Alice Thomason and Russell and Shirley Brown.
