Auldie Carl Collins Jr., 72, of Lexington, went to be with his heavenly father on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Friendship United Methodist Church, where he was a member, by the Rev. Carroll Lupton Jr. Burial will follow in the cemetery of Friendship United Methodist Church with Masonic rites by Lexington Memorial Lodge 473.
Mr. Collins was a retired electrician. He was an active member of the Revolution Masonic Lodge 552 of Greensboro until his illness. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Surviving is his wife, Glenda L. Collins; one son, Roy Collins and his wife, Rene, of Smithfield; one daughter, Ruth Reep and her husband, Jim, of Lexington; one brother, Jim Collins of Ohio; two sisters, Jean Zieger and Lola Goyette of Arizona; six grandchildren, Charlotte Harrison, Audrey Reep, Phillip "Maxwell" Reep, Seth Collins, Lucas Collins and Dawn Reep; and one great-grandchild, Brooke Lynn Harrison.
The family would like to thank all friends, church members, neighbors and doctors who prayed and offered support for Auldie and his family during his illness.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
